Hosted in historic Annapolis, where it all began.

Presenters from the City of Angels to the Big Apple, from Denver to DC, from Las Vegas to Connecticut, and New Scotland Yard join subject matter experts providing the relevant topics and emerging trends facing today’s investigators and analysts

  • Case Studies providing a look at some of the most critical mass casualty events from across the country: Aurora, CO., Las Vegas, NV, Washington, DC, and Sandy Hook, CT. And how effective Threat Assessment Teams are providing proactive results.
  • A look at International and Domestic Terrorism, and Homicide Investigations, and Social Media exploitation, for beginners and advanced.
  • Discussing nuances in investigative techniques from interviewing victims, interrogating subjects, and using DNA and Genealogy in Cold Cases.

Tribute to Heroes

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the attacks on 9/11.  2021 also marks the 10th anniversary of the Raid on Abbottabad leading to the death of bin Laden.

Tribute to Heroes, the popular evening event of the INLETS’ weeklong program, features Rob O’Neill, US Navy (ret.), leader, SEAL Team 6, and the operator who killed Usama bin Laden.  He will share his story, participate in a meet & greet with book signing, and join attendees as we recognize peers with awards and remember our fallen officers through special presentations during the dinner program.

The Enrichment Visit

On Wednesday, we will head to Ft. McHenry National Park in Baltimore, the birthplace of our National Anthem.

There, a US Park Ranger will lead the group from a video presentation and guided tour of the Star Fort providing all the details about that historic September in 1812, concluding with the folding of the Old Glory flag.

 

 

A chance to visit history and take in the view of Baltimore’s skyline on the banks of the Patapsco River at the mouth of the Inner Harbor.

Guests of attendees welcome.  Transportation is provided.

    Fusion centers contribute to the Information Sharing Environment (ISE) through their role in receiving threat information from the federal government; analyzing that information in the context of their local environment; disseminating that information to local agencies; and gathering tips, leads, and suspicious activity reporting (SAR) from local agencies and the public. Fusion centers receive information from a variety of sources, including SAR from stakeholders within their jurisdictions, as well as federal information and intelligence. They analyze the information and develop relevant products to disseminate to their customers. These products assist homeland security partners at all levels of government to identify and address immediate and emerging threats.

    Beyond serving as a focal point for information sharing, fusion centers add significant value to their customers by providing a state and local context to help enhance the national threat picture. Fusion centers provide the federal government with critical state and local information and subject matter expertise that it did not receive in the past – enabling the effective communication of locally generated threat related information to the federal government. Integrating and connecting these state and local resources creates a national capacity to gather, process, analyze, and share information in support of efforts to protect the country.

    Our nation faces an evolving threat environment, in which threats not only emanate from outside our borders, but also from within our communities. This new environment demonstrates the increasingly critical role fusion centers play to support the sharing of threat-related information between the federal government and SLTT partners.
