In October 2009, Staff Sergeant Clint Romesha and his fellow soldiers awoke to an attack by an estimated 300 enemy fighters occupying the high ground on all four sides of their complex. Under-siege, they faced concentrated fire from rocket propelled grenades, anti-aircraft machine guns, mortars and small arms.
Recognized with the Medal of Honor for the actions he took in response, he will share his inspirational story which was depicted in the 2019 movie, The Outpost.

Tribute to Heroes Evening Program and Enrichment Visit
The Enrichment Visit brings attendees to the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, the 8th ranked museum in the world. Attendees will have a self guided tour of the exhibits, a private INLETS viewing of Tom Hanks’ “Beyond All Boundaries” 4D movie, and then attend the Tribute to Heroes evening program in the museum’s Freedom Pavilion, seen below from our last visit.
The Tribute to Heroes evening program includes a plated dinner with awards presented to worthy peers, a special tribute to Fallen Officers, and an inspirational address by Clint Romesha, the Keynote speaker.
Clint Romesha, US Army, shares his story of the Battle of Kamdesh. His actions that day led him to receive the Medal of Honor and were depicted in the film, The Outpost.
